anahad āvartanshālā is a Fellowship program that connects young people in their 20s with practitioners of socially and ecologically sustainable livelihoods. It offers an alternative to the dominant patriarchal and capitalist career models built on competition, individualism, and exploitation.
Today, while many young people seek meaningful, sustainable work, long-standing ethical enterprises across India struggle to find successors who can carry their work forward with integrity. āvartanshālā bridges this gap—helping youth rediscover livelihoods rooted in relationship, responsibility, and purpose, while strengthening the continuity of ethical, sustainable practices across generations.
Anahad is a nurturing ground where individuals and families are flourishing by reestablishing and deepening connections with self, fellow beings, and nature.
It is an eco-community (Evolving, Commonly shared, Organically growing Community) in a farm ground, situated 55kms away from Hyderabad City. Anahad provides multiple connection points for well-being and growth.
Change often begins with the individual, and gradually brings together a group of people working towards it. Anahad is the brain-child of two brothers, brought into creation with the support and participation of family and friends. We evolve organically and strive to connect to the ‘Anahad’, the limitless.
We are consistently seeking harmony within, with fellow beings, and with the environment around us. We believe in coexistence harmonious relationships and inner peace. We have experimented in the areas of eco-construction, permaculture, alternative cleaning products, water harvesting, natural healing as well as hygienic eating.
Mainstream education and career paths often prioritize external markers of success—high salaries, prestigious titles, and relentless competition—while leaving little room for questions of meaning, fulfillment, or social contribution. Many young people find themselves navigating a landscape where:
At the same time, across India, there are inspiring practitioners who have built livelihoods rooted in dignity, ecological balance, and community wellbeing. These enterprises need passionate young people to carry their work forward—but the bridges between them are few and fragile.
